Thanks for finding us here…The following is response I gave to your comments on LAist.com

It’s quite opposite of what you think it is. We actually help to not only raise awareness, but many of the participants volunteer regularly at great organizations. In fact, we’ve also helped to open up shelters for trafficking victims.

A lot of us also promote and practice ethical purchasing. Maybe it’s not everyone, but each time we meet up, it’s an opportunity to inform another person.

Thanks for judging us before even getting to know us. If you ever want to chat by phone or meet up, I’m available for a more respectable conversation.

Now, what do you do? Just curious. You sound pretty angry based on your comments on several articles. Sorry to hear that you feel that way.

isn’t this just another form of slacktivism?

it’s also very ironic when you watch the youtube videos and you see that the people “raising awareness” against slavery are wearing clothing made by companies who are known for sweatshops and injustice to humanity.

wouldn’t it be more effective to your cause if you can gather up individuals who truly want to make a difference and get out and volunteer your time towards your cause?

after you get your small form of feel good satisfaction, do you just move onto another cause?

i don’t mean to shit on this but i think these raising awareness events actually do more harm.
